Hi. I have three suggestions for AnkiDroid that should be relatively easy to implement and would make the app much more convenient for users.
1) Reduce minimum due card threshold for notifications.
Right now, AnkiDroid only sends notifications if there are 10 or more due cards. It would be much more convenient if notifications could appear even for a single due card. This would help keep daily reviews consistent, especially on light days.
2) Notify for cards in learning/relearning steps.
From my understanding, AnkiDroid only notifies for cards that are already learned and due for review. However, it doesn’t notify for cards currently in learning or relearning steps, e.g., waiting 10 minutes for the next interval. I find this more important than notifications for already learned cards. Being notified when a card reappears after a short learning step would help maintain focus and avoid having to constantly check the app.
3) Disable notifications for new cards.
I have many new cards and don’t want to be notified for them. Currently, AnkiDroid can show notifications when a large number of cards (e.g., 1000+) are due, but if all of them are new, I may not have planned to study them that day. It would be helpful to have an option to turn off notifications specifically for new cards.
These changes would make notifications much more relevant and flexible for different study routines.
