Hello, I’ve searched online for hours but couldn’t find a solution, so I’m asking here. When studying, the cards are collected and displayed in the order of the “new” numbers from the due list. I want to create a vocabulary list by exporting the deck to a TXT file, then copying/pasting it into Excel. However, the order of the words in Excel doesn’t match the order of cards shown during study.
What determines the sorting order when exporting to TXT?
I want to export the cards in the same order as the “new” numbers in the due list. If that’s impossible, how can I make the exported TXT order match the study sequence(due new number)?
This is the order in which the cards are sorted after exporting to a text file and pasting into Excel, or the way they’re sorted in the Anki Browser when clicking on elements like deck or card type.
I keep looking for a way, but I haven’t been able to find a method to make them the same. Please help. I used a translator because my English is not very good. I’m sorry.
From what I understand, they’re not explicitly sorted, which means they’re implicitly sorted by creation time (ids). The oldest note/card ends up in the first row and so on
I think this would be useful, were it not for the fact that “oldest = first” is assumed when importing. Cards potentially sorted by due when exporting would be imported under the assumption that the “most/least due” is also the oldest. Perhaps this was the reason for the above
I don’t think there is a way of doing this with the regular export, but it should be possible with a simple script. Can you tell a little more about the cards you are exporting? Are there more than 1 card per note or is there a 1 to 1 correspondence? Also, do you have any formatting and HTML in your fields or is there plain text only?
Thank you for your help. I succeeded in changing the order of the flashcards to be the same as the exported TXT file. Thank you very much for your attention/interest.!!
