Hi Folks!
So, is it possible to export the due dates of all cards in a deck, as .txt?
The cards in this deck are ordered by the “Position” (e.g., “201”) or “Due” (e.g., “New #201”) columns, which are not exportable fields. When the deck is exported as .txt, edited in a certain way that I need, and imported back, there’s no way I can still study the cards using their original order, and hence the question.
Sorry if this is a dumb question but I’m somewhat new to Anki, and this has driven me nuts…
Tx!
You can’t export any scheduling information in a text/CSV. But as long as you’re careful in creating your export, and about what you edit, you should be able to re-import the file to update your notes. Nothing will change about the order your cards are in.
Exporting: Exporting - Anki Manual
Importing: Text Files - Anki Manual
Thank you!!
Do you know if there’s away to export .txt with the cards sorted in the same way as they are in the browser? I was able to add an ID field to the cards, hoping that the the cards can be sorted by the IDs. However the IDs are all random.
IIRC, the notes export in order created, so if you sort your Browse window by “Created,” they will match. Your other option is to sort by the “Sort Field” in Browse, and you can view your text/CSV file in a spreadsheet program to sort by whichever field (column) that is. I don’t think it’s possible to match the order other than that.
