Could you try moving the cloze inside the mathjax instead? Change ({{c1::\(Text\)}} to \({{c1:Text}}\)
Ah, just noticed that classic issue of cloze interfering with MathJax closing brackets. Cloze requires there to be a double brace without separation and it searches for the first occurence. Now, because of this portion x^{2i}}, the cloze is closed off instead of MathJax function being clozed. To fix this, separate your }} as } } (MathJax ignores all spaces between braces, so this should work)
