Error message when flipping cards

Downloaded a shared deck to study common Chinese sentences a while ago. I’ve now thought about “just” creating a second card type where I need to reproduce instead of just recognize. Due to multiple fields and a lacking HTML experience, I always receive an error message when trying to flip the card (even though I inserted a line between Front and Back with

< hr id=“answer” >

). Screenshots attached.

Try this instead –
<hr id=answer>
– without the quotation marks.

And just to be clear on the procedure, make sure you “Add Card Type” first, before you click “Flip.” You want to flip your new Card 2, not Card 1.

Thanks, that solved the problem. Any idea why the quotation marks hindered Anki from recognizing it? Every online tutorial told to put them…
I already created a second card type but did not select it when taking the screenshot, but thank you for the reminder.

Anki is looking for the specific text that the default templates include, and won’t recognise alterations.
