Same exact thing. Started with : “error decoding response body: missing field models at line 1 column 17S”
Ran check database. Check media (deleted cards). Now getting other error of only being able to sync one anki at a time
Very frustrating… A force sync seems to work, but you will have to do it every. single. time. 
Please tell me this is just a bug and can be fixed quickly!

Sorry for the hassle, this was an issue with AnkiWeb, and it should be working again now.

click on Check Database under Tools, then after that is complete sync your app

Ok, I’ve merged all the separate posts into this one. In case the forum software didn’t notify the most recent posters: this issue was on AnkiWeb’s end, and has been resolved. It was not caused by any problems with your collection, and things should be back to normal now. If you run into any further problems in the future, please let me know on a new thread.

Thanks for the update, was just coming back to report that after leaving it alone for a few hours I came back and synced, and it went just fine. Didn’t require a full sync even, just a short, regular (merge) one.
