Decreasing space between reviews

Hi

I have quite large Flashcards (covering lots of content), and so when I get a card right, I may get one card ‘good’ or ‘easy’, then it’ll come back after a few days and it’ll be ‘good’ or easy’.

The annoying thing is, usually the 3rd or 4th time, it sometimes pushes it up to 3 months (good) and 11 months (easy)

Is there any way I can decrease the rate of time increasing on Anki iPad

Are you using the default algorithm (SM-2) or have you enabled the updated FSRS algorithm?

Hi sorry I have no clue, how can I check?

In your deck Options, look for the FSRS switch – Deck Options - Anki Manual .

Hi! Thanks for the response, so sorry on my behalf for a late reply

Where do I find deck options on Anki iOS iPad? I cannot find it sorry

Thank you! I have found FSRS, what does desired retention mean? I want to make intervals shorter I.e. even if I find easy, it might repeat in a month instead of 9monthx as it does sometimes. Should I keep it low or high?

There’s a question mark icon next to each option that explains it. Trying to change the DR will also show a box that says:

The higher this value, the more frequently cards will be shown to you.

In other words, higher DR = shorter intervals = more reviews.

Please see the link I gave you. It explains Desired Retention.

There are a few things you can do here.

As others have mentioned, setting your desired retention higher will lead to shorter intervals in general.

For cards where the interval is already too high, pressing “Again” once will lower their interval.

Under the options for your deck (the same place you went to check if you were using FSRS), there is also an option called “Maximum Interval”. If you want to make sure cards are never scheduled with an interval over a certain length (say, 365 days) you can set that there. Don’t set this number too low though - this is for a long multi-month limit, not for low limits like “4 weeks”.

Thank you everyone for the help
