As far as I can tell from searching, this isn’t possible, but I would love if I could set a daily limit for new cards that applies to new cards from all decks combined. So if I set total limit of 30, but each deck has a limit of 20, it would only show 15 from each deck.
This is better than decreasing each deck’s limit as I add new decks because: using the example above if I set each deck to 15, but I don’t add any cards to one of the decks for some time, then I’ll only be seeing 15 cards on that day.
It could work as a proportion of total new cards in each deck. If the total limit is 30, and deck one has 50 new cards that need to be seen and deck two has 100 new cards, then to maintain the same ratio in the total limit, you’d see 10 from deck one and 20 from deck two.
I’m starting to create lots of decks for different topics, so I get too many new cards some days. And I add to different decks in a non-consistent manner, so I can’t just decrease all deck limits for the reason above.
Oh good idea. Does this also do the auto-proportion from each deck’s new cards that I described? Just worried about if I added 50 cards to two decks and the total limit is 30, it only shows 30 from one deck.
Experiment with it. When you examine one card, it should show 29 new ones in one deck and 29 in the other. That is, this setting will not allow you to study more than 30 in total.
So ideally I would see the three oldest cards from each deck if I studied the main deck. But I get 6 cards from deck one only.
Setting new card gather order to Random gets me closer. It splits numbers of cards between the decks appropriately, but it doesn’t do oldest first, which I would prefer.
Actually, I think this is best. What I wanted was - with a main limit of 10 - if I add 10 to subdeck one then 10 to subdeck two, it would show the oldest 5 from each subdeck.
Using Ascending Order shows only the 10 cards from subdeck one today, but that’s probably better. I’d rather see the oldest cards first, even if they’re all from one subdeck.
If I then add another 10 to subdeck one, tomorrow I should only see the 10 cards from subdeck two, which makes sense.
