Custom study - doesn't show new cards

Hello!

I have added a new deck with 26 cards in it, and I have the default option of 3 new cards per day. Today is the first day I’m using the deck, so I answered the 3 new cards and the review stopped.

I wanted to create a Custom deck that will show me more cards today (because I need to study more for the upcoming exam, I cannot go 3 cards a day as the exam is in a week, but I still wanted to add my knowledge to Anki) and no matter what option I choose, no new cards are added.

I wanted to go with the option " Increase today’s new card limit
Add more new cards to the deck you are currently studying. Note that unlike other options, this does ‘not’ create a new filtered deck, it modifies the existing deck."

But when I change the number of limit, nothing happens - it says “0 out of 26 will be added” (see screenshots - first of the options in this deck, second is what shows up when I try to increase the limit in the Custom deck option).

What am I doing wrong?

  1. Are you sure that’s the right Deck Options group? It says its only used by 1 deck, and it has a New card limit of 50, not 3.

  2. Are the other New cards unsuspended and unburied, so they are available to be studied?

  3. Are you making your Custom Study from the deck the cards are actually in? Your settings box says 0 are available, but that there are 26 in subdecks of this deck.

  4. The easiest way to increase New cards for the day is actually in the Deck Options – for the deck the cards are actually in. You can set a deck-specific “Today Only” limit that will go back to normal tomorrow.

Hello! Thank you for your answer and helping me in this quest :slight_smile: Ok, apologies, I omitted some details that might have been helpful, here is the explanation:

Re: 1 - I changed the number of cards in hopes it will let me practice more today, and it is used by this one deck only (that’s why, other decks have other settings). Increasing the number of cards did not help, however.
Re: 2 - They are unsuspended and unburied, I have just added them today :slight_smile:
Re: 3 - Actually, it is the other way around - the main decks has most of the cards, the sundeck only has 4 cards.
Re:4 - I haven’t tried the “Today only” limit yet, I will give it a go! :slight_smile:

I was wondering - if I finished doing the deck, and got the “Congratulation!” message - I clicked on “Custom Study” at the bottom of this “Congrats” window - is that the correct place?
