Custom Study based on Difficulty

Is there any way I can easily create a custom study session based on the difficulty level of the cards?

When I go to my stats for the deck I can see cards organised based on difficulty. Some of them are in the 95-100% category and I want to review these specifically? Is there an easy way I can make a custom study deck with only these cards inside? The most applicable setting I can find is custom study based on card state or tag, but I’m not sure of the implications of using this setting.

Thanks in advance.

Yes. You use this:

deck:current prop:d>=0.95 prop:d<=1 -is:suspended

If you click on the graph in stats it opens a browser with the query that can be pasted into the filtered deck window. I excluded suspended cards too (-is:suspended) but you don’t have to do that.

Thanks @Anon_0000, I’ve managed to find that filter.

Just wondering how I use it? Screenshots attached of my custom study menu, there doesn’t seem to be an option for me to use this filter, only for me to select tags. I don’t think I have any tags?

Thanks in advance

What version are you on?

I’m on the latest version (24.11) and mine looks different:

I’m also on 24.11 on Mac. I’ve clicked on the deck the cards are originally from, then custom study at the bottom of the page. That’s how I got those two menus. I don’t see any filtered option.

I see. It looks the same for me from that page. If you’re in the deck overview and press f (or whatever the mac equivalent of the menubar tools > filtered deck) is, you get the window that I showed you above and can paste your query there.

If you want to use the window that you showed me, someone else might be able to help you.

Ahh thanks, this works.

Just wondering is there any way to study it in a way that doesn’t affect the card’s stats? e.g. when I use the filtered deck and mark it as ‘good’, it will then send the card back for review several days later compared to if I didn’t at all.

If I use a custom study feature, it is my understanding that it will not impact the next due date, it’s just a short study session looking over the custom study cards.

I’d rather have it so that I can create a study session where I can look over the cards in the very high difficulty rating, without impacting the due date of these cards.

Yes, you can. In that window:

turn off the first checkbox (“reschedule cards based on my answers”).

Just to clarify, most Custom Study sessions have “reschedule based on” enabled by default. When you create a Filtered Deck (which is essentially the same as Custom Study, but you aren’t limited to a menu of options), it will also be on by default. It’s always an option to turn it off, but you’ll need to remember to do that when you create the deck/session.

The other easy way to do that is in the Browse window. Search them up just like you did above, and then you can scroll through the cards in Preview.
