On the new version of AnkiDroid 2.24.0 (May 3, 2026), I can’t start a Custom Study with all cards for newly created decks. The same thing works normally on Anki for Windows.
Steps to reproduce:

Select a deck

Go to “Custom Study”

Choose “Study by card state or tag”

Select any “x cards from the deck” and choose “All cards in random order (don’t reschedule)”

Instead of taking me to the tag selection screen, it immediately shows the error:
“No cards matched the criteria you provided”
Expected behavior:
It should show the tag selection screen. I usually don’t select any tags there, and then it starts the custom study normally.
I’m using all the default Anki settings and haven’t customized anything. The problem only started after this update, it was working fine before.
I also noticed that if the deck contains “new” cards, those do get included in the custom study, but existing/reviewed cards that I’ve already studied do not.
Am I maybe doing something wrong, or could this be a bug?
