Creating a new card and changing its deck is not working - Anki Version ⁨2.1.42

Hello Everyone, I am facing issues when I want to create a new card.

It’s using Anki Version 2.1.42 with the french version, most of my cards are with the Basic type.

When I am creating a new card, I want to check its deck directly, I think like everyone else, But even though it’s showing that I’m changing it’s deck, it fall back automatically to the default deck, which is counter-productive, because I have to the browse tab, go to the default deck and switch it again, so what can be done in one step is done it 2 …

Sounds like you have the deck override option activated.

Follow these steps:

  1. when in the editor and selecting the Basic type, click the Cards button.
  2. Click the Options button at the top, then Deck Override.
  3. Leave the input field blank and press Enter.
  4. Make sure the option is off now.
  5. Click Save.
