Hi all, I’m having an issue with cards due for review today not showing in the deck. Nothing I’ve found on the forum so far seems to help.
The cards aren’t buried, suspended etc…, they’re marked as due today, but just won’t show in the deck when I go to study. I’ve looked at settings such as my timezone, limits on review, etc… but nothing applicable. Today when I reviewed the deck I did the 20 new cards, according to the settings, and only reviewed 4 old ones. The stats suggest that I should’ve had 14 and they are all marked as due today (Sunday 29th).
I’m not sure where you’re getting the idea that 14 should be due – you’re showing us 10 in one screenshot and 12 in another screenshot.
In the Browse window – you’re in Notes mode instead of Cards mode. We can see they only have 1 card each, so the count is right, but there are lots of other details about them you could see in Cards mode (due dates, suspended, filtered, buried, etc.). [You’re searching for due today only, so that won’t show you any overdue cards. Probably not the issue here, but something to be careful about.]
In Deck Options – you’re showing us the Default options group, but those daily limits only apply to the current deck (“this deck”), not to any subdecks. Are all of your cards in that specific deck?
Are you trying to study in your Filtered/Custom Deck? As suggested, you may need to Rebuild it. Also, what is your search filter? Is it capturing everything you want? [If you’re trying to study the regularly due cards, the easiest way to do that is usually in the main deck.]
Or are you trying to study in your main deck? As suggested, you may need to Empty or delete your Custom Study deck if it is still holding the cards.
I suspect it is because I had previously used the custom study deck to review some cards. Perhaps they had been moved to that deck and were therefore not showing? I use custom study sometimes to look over the cards I studied during the day again. I use the ‘forgotten’ filter option to have another look at cards I didn’t immediately recognise.
For some further background:
14 is a typo, it was supposed to be 12. When I clicked the column in the bar chart which said ‘Today: 12 due’, approximately 4 minutes after taking the screenshot, it brought be to the browse tab where ten are visible. I’m not sure what happened in between, I don’t remember doing anything else. That’s why only the cards due today are showing.
None of the cards were suspended etc… but on the card information it did suggest it was due today. Shortly after rebuilding/emptying the custom study deck they reappeared back in the normal deck and I reviewed them. I suspect this was the issue, though I will have to test again tomorrow. All the cards are in one main deck, with no subdecks. They were just invisible before, I suspect, having been moved at some point to the custom study deck?
A card can only be in one standard deck. A Filtered/Custom Study deck is allowed to “borrow” a card from its standard “home” deck, and while it’s there it can’t be studied from that home deck. When you’re done with a Filtered/Custom deck, you should generally either delete it, or if you want to keep it for future use, Empty it – so that that all of the cards return to their home decks.
