Cant upload decks / addons, why does this happen?
- Shared decks take one day from upload to release, maybe to check for copyright.
- Files too large cannot be uploaded, probably max about 150MB (zip). For shared decks that are too large (e.g. 1GB+) it’s common to distribute them via google drive within the learning community, not AnkiWeb. (or split the deck)
- Slow internet speeds may cause uploads to interrupt. If so retrying several times may succeed.
Your AnkiWeb sharing has been disabled. If you’d prefer to contact support privately to discuss this, you can send a DM to @ moderators.
what? why?
Do you remember yesterday, when you uploaded over 1000 add-ons that were impersonating existing add-ons – and at least some of which contained malware? It’s because of that.
Anki add-ons are used by serious students and medical students to make their demanding studies a little easier, students in some countries are likely studying to escape poverty.
Many of these add-ons are developed for free by volunteers to help each other with their study burdens, and many add-ons have user bases ranging from dozens to hundreds and since most of them are students they aren’t wealthy, so nearly all are developed at a loss or on a non-profit basis. Since all of these are open source competitors to Anki can also freely use the code for their learning apps.
Attacking such a small non-profit learning community built on goodwill with malicious malware for profit or destruction is equivalent to committing terrorism against schools, even if you were a developer suffering from poverty targeting these earnest hardworking children will undoubtedly send you to hell by karma.
If you need money I recommend studying, programming tends to be relatively well paid compared to general jobs, and there is still a lot of demand. Anki is a tool for learning the advanced skills and languages needed to earn money and anyone can use it for free.
oh, i see
Hmm according to your funny meme you seem to me like you’re not really a professional malicious developer. (most criminals would flee, why are you increasing the evidence of your crime?)
If you’re a mischievous teenager and haven’t taken any precautions they’ll likely contact your address and actually send a bill, if so I recommend calling the official Anki support and apologizing, if you’re a teenager and sincerely apologize there is a slight chance they might forgive you because they are kind. (I 'm not related to the official Anki)
you know what? your right. i step down. whole thing is a project made in a day anyway
