It’s pretty trivial I’m sorry but I can’t find an answer.
I’m using Anki on mac, and can’t find a “play sound” button when I show my answer although it’s in a separate field when I’m entering card content. I click the microphone icon and just record myself, just to be able to check the pronunciation of each word after viewing it. I read somewhere that those are stored temporarily, but I can view the audio recordings in the parent directory, but never able to play it from the app, not even with options > replay sound. thanks in advance!
Check your templates. See Card Templates - Anki Manual.
I think the issue is you don’t have a field replacement in your template that will include the audio in the card.
So, if you have a field called audio, you should include {{audio}} in the back or front template. For every note, Anki will then include the content from the {{audio}} field in your cards. Otherwise, the field will exist but it won’t show up anywhere.
