I can’t install Anki for my local account.
I have already Anki for my main account and I wanted to use same decks in my local account.
By install anki, showed a following message:
“A previous Anki Version needs to be uninstalled first. After uninstallation completes, please run this installer again.”
click OK. then:
“Failed to uninstall the old version of Anki. Proceeding with installation”
After that, I deleted the old ver Anki manually, but I can’t intall yet and showing same message above.
That message is telling you that the old version may still be lying around, and installation should still proceed. If you open Anki in the place it’s installed (and there should be a shortcut to it on your desktop), it should still run.
There should be an anki.exe file and anki-console.exe. If there’s not, perhaps your antivirus program is removing it? If there is, what happens when you run it?
That is a message you get when running the Anki installer. After installing, you need to run the anki.exe file that the installer creates, not run the installer again.
