Can not share my deck

So this is my first time using Anki. I tried to share my deck to the public, but the error occurred as follows:

Unfortunately, the default deck can’t be shared at the moment. Please move your cards into a new deck using the computer version, and then try again.

My deck has a name, not the default, and why do I need to move into a new deck? To move means to make a copy of the deck? I have only one deck.

Thank you,

I don’t know why.

Moving cards means changing their parent deck. In order to do this, you need to use the card browser interface. Learn more about it here.

It sounds like you renamed the “Default” deck. That probably seemed practical at the time – but the “Default” deck has some special (hidden) properties, and it shouldn’t be shared into other collections.

To fix it in your collection –

  1. Rename your deck to Default [spelled exactly like that].
  2. Click “Create Deck” to make a new deck with the name you wanted.
  3. In Browse, select all the cards in the “Default” deck and move them to your new deck with Cards > Change Deck.
  4. [Watch in amazement as the Default deck disappears, and you never have to think about it again.]
  5. Check that your new deck is using the correct Options preset.

Once you sync those changes with AnkiWeb, you should be able to share you deck just fine.

Thank you for responding to my question.

My deck has a name, not Default. Anyway I want to follow your suggestion. I looked at the Anki manural, but it doesn’t say how to move cards. I have more than 700 cards. How to select all of them?
