The dialog seems to hide those buttons when when the window is resized to too narrow of a width, which is an ostensibly reasonable policy. However, it seems that in my case the definition of “too narrow” is incorrect: the buttons disappear when there’s still PLENTY of room for them in the dialog, which has become a source of frustration in my current usage.
A screenshot showing the problem, and more details about your version, installed plugins, system, etc, may be helpful.
As I drag the corner of the window, to resize it, my window manager tells me how big the window is at each repositioning. As I resize it, it says that the Edit button is hidden from the smallest widths up to 584 pixels* wide, like this:
And if I enlarge the window by just 1 more pixel, to 585, then the Edit button appears, like this:
* Are the units really pixels? They’re just the numbers my window manager is showing me, without any units, so I’m not sure.
