Best time for Anki

What’s the best time to do your Anki cards?

According to my Anki stats my recall is better early in the day, but according to this study you retain information better when learned in the afternoon.

Are there maybe some statistics collected of users that might answer this question accurately?

Are such statistics or conclusions drawn from them published somewhere?

Anking said in his settings video that the setting “decreasing retrievability” is shown to be the best setting according to some stats. What stats did he mean, are they publicly available?

There’s no universal recommendation. Whatever works for you, or whatever your stats say is fine.

No, we don’t collect those kinds of stats from user collections. Even if someone did, the times on review logs don’t reflect the local time zone where the event happened, so they wouldn’t tell you anything.

You can search the forum for the posts that reached that conclusion about the efficiency of “descending retrievability” sorting. But that’s not dependent on the time of day you study – it’s more about whether you study the cards when they are due or overdue.

Each study shows some kind of generalization. Nevertheless you are individual.

Make you own study: review cards each day on different hour. Continue study till you have al least 100 reviews per hour and each hour you have similar number of reviews. Then compare % of AGAIN.

I bet that difference will be negligible
