Having trouble showing the same text format on the editing side and opening the note to see the answer. See images below to see the differences in format for the back side of the notes I create.
Ideally, they would be the same format. It’s easier for me to memorize the lists when they’re stacked on top of each other. If there’s any workaround please let me know. Thanks!
It will then mark most of your answer wrong if you don’t also enter the text used in formatting. FYI, that formatting comes from underlying HTML tags so you’ll have to type-in those too if you want your answer to be marked correct.
The bold in your notes probably comes from wrapping the text with <b> and </b> tags. The list uses <ul> and <li>.
Unfortunately, type-answer fields strip out all formatting, so if you want Anki to do the comparison for you, you’re limited to plain text. This functionality is best suited to short answers where spelling is essential.
If it’s important to you to type your answer in the Anki window itself (as opposed to in a text document you have open beside Anki), what you might want to try is just a plain text box that will let you type and persist to the other side of the card. Here are a few methods for doing that –
