Use a spreadsheet (e.g. LibreOffice Calc) to manage your cards.
Have a look at my Latin Pronouns in Tables and Sentences deck. It has both cloze cards as well as reverse cards in it. It create the cloze content on one tab of the spreadsheet, and the basic-reverse stuff on another. They do use two different note types, but you may have several within a single deck.
Maintaining your content with a spreadsheet is much easier β and allows much greater consistency β than trying to maintain them directly through Anki.
As a work around Ankiβs limitations a long time ago I wrote a Cloze Generator addin to generate cloze notes from a normal card.
Itβs not a perfect solution as after generation the notes are obviously separate notes, and hence have to be maintained separately and are scheduled independently.
However, it allows you to only create a note type that contains all of the information in a single note, which for me was better when creating notes.
Not looked at it for a long time, but anyone is welcome to take the code and use or improve it.
