Automatic subdecks

1 Situation
It is not comfortable to see just those cards of a deck which are not in a subdeck when there are subdecks in deck.
Automatic subdecks for better overview would be nice.

2 Example

How it is now:

1 french [deck]
card1
card2
1.1 subdeck a [deck]
card3
card4
1.2 subdeck b [deck]
card5
card6

My idea:

1 french [deck]
not in subdeck [deck]
card1
card2
1.1 subdeck a [deck]
card3
card4
1.2 subdeck b [deck]
card5
card6

3 Idea in detail
It would be nice if anki would - maybe optionally - create automatically an extra subdeck for those in the following situation:

  • there are one or more subdecks in a deck
  • and there are cards which belong to the superior deck, but not to an subdeck

So the deck for those cards should be changed

  • from deck:“1 french”
  • to e.g. deck:“1 french:: not in subdeck

4 Ways to select those cards at the moment
At the moment you can search

deck: " 1 french " -deck: " 1 french::* "

to select those cards.
(compare: Searching - Anki Manual)

Or you can move all the subdecks
to another deck to see which cards
remain.

5 Summary
I think it isn’t very important, but it would be good to have an better overview. Otherwise too many options may complicate the usage.

I’m using anki 2.1.44 if it was meanwhile introduced.
