Audio not playing when "New study screen" is enabled

​Description:

I am experiencing an issue where audio (TTS/Media) stops playing as soon as I enable the “New study screen” feature in AnkiDroid.

​Steps to reproduce:

  1. ​Enable “New study screen” in Settings > Review.

  2. ​Start studying a deck with audio or TTS.

  3. ​The audio does not play automatically, and clicking the “Play” icon manually does not work either.

  4. ​When I disable the “New study screen”, the audio works perfectly fine again.

​Device Info:

  • ​App Version: Latest AnkiDroid 2.17+ (using New Study Screen)

  • ​Device: Xiaomi (MIUI/HyperOS)

  • ​Android Version: 12/13/14

​Additional Note:

I have already tried toggling “Disable hardware acceleration” in Advanced settings, but it didn’t resolve the issue when the new screen is active
