AnkiWeb and AnkiMobile not syncing with one another

I’ve created two new decks on AnkiWeb (ankiweb.net). I’ve previously created some decks on the app version of Anki on my laptop (which has synced automatically with my mobile app). The issue is the decks on AnkiWeb are not showing on either app, and the decks on the apps are not showing on AnkiWeb. I’ve checked my account details and both use the same email address.

Please check again. Your description of the problem suggests that you may be using 2 different AnkiWeb accounts: one on the apps on your laptop and mobile device and a different one on the ankiweb.net website.

Again, please check the email addresses carefully, in all 3 places.

I signed out of my laptop app account, then copied and pasted my email address and password over from my Web account to my laptop app. If I was in a separate account, this should have solved it? I also checked the devices list on my phone app. This shows my phone, my laptop (web) and my laptop (app) all being online in the last 10 minutes, implying they’re synced under the one account (I can’t view these sync status’s on my laptop).

As a sanity check, did you press Sync after logging in in the app?

The sync status on the mobile app/ laptop app say “Sync Status - Just now (tick)” (auto-syncs?). I cannot find anything referencing the sync status on AnkiWeb, however the changes to the mobile app/ laptop app were made some months ago.

Did you check to see what email address was being used on the Anki app on your laptop, before you signed out?

Did you check to see what email address is currently being used on the AnkiMobile app on your phone? (gear icon in top right corner > Syncing > “Logged in as”)

Where are you checking that? AnkiMobile doesn’t have that functionality.

The apps show need-to-sync status by the Sync/Synchronize button changing color, but neither app shows the time since last sync.

Are you using these apps: Anki - powerful, intelligent flashcards ?

If that is the email address you used to post here – I can see your AnkiWeb account, and it has no history of syncing with any devices.

Thank you for noting the mobile app functionality. I downloaded “AnkiApp” onto my laptop, which has an orange logo with two arrows. Turns out this was named incorrectly by the provider and is actually AlgoApp. When I went looking for the app on my mobile app store, I downloaded after seeing the same logo. Therefore, my laptop app and mobile app have been a different app, AlgoApp, hence the syncing and ability differences.

I have since downloaded Anki on my laptop, following your instructions, and have successfully synced AnkiWeb with AnkiApp (laptop).
