I started using TTS from Anking last week and it worked the way i wanted it to. When a card was shown, it automatically played the TTS, and when i flipped the card, it automatically played the TTS for the back. However, today, after updating, it no longer will do it automatically, and the only way i can get it to play without clicking the actual button on the screen is to press replay audio, which takes twice as long since it reads the entire front and back when i flipped to the back. How can i fix this? I want to be able to be listening to it and not necissarily have to see the screen.

What i have tried so far:

  1. Made sure in the settings that “don’t play audio automatically” is OFF
  2. Made sure computer is unmuted
  3. Made sure phone is unmuted
  4. Downloaded AwesomeTTS and changed it to using that

pls help i’ve wasted so much time trying to fix this

They know their note types much better, and should be able to help you get this working.

I would double-check your note type CSS. Specifically, the bit of code that ‘activates’ or otherwise silences the TTS.

Particularly if you updated note types, or similar, it may have reverted this setting. With it off, deck settings won’t have any effect.

There’s no reason, that I’m aware of, to use AwesomeTTS

Are you saying the same thing happens on your computer and phone? Or is your problem limited to reviewing on AnkiMobile? If it’s the latter, such behaviour is usually because the phone is set to mute/vibrate, but you said you checked that.
