Anki won't close and won't refresh the interface (unable to view card content on Browse window)

Hi,

Anki has worked perfectly for about 1 year, but has been crashing for a few days. After browsing a few cards, the software no longer responds (the preview and edit section is no longer updated) and is impossible to close (forced to go through the task manager). I can’t send you the video because of the website : “Sorry, new users can not upload attachments.”

I’ve already tried :

  1. Restart Anki several times without the add-ons
  2. Change the video drivers
  3. Check the database
  4. Reset window sizes
  5. Uninstall completely Anki and reinstall it

I’m using the latest version (v24.06.3). It seems that the problem occurs when I browse into a specific deck (it doesn’t happen when I browse the others).

This sounds like a problem with that deck, doesn’t it? What deck is it? Did you make it yourself or did you download it from somewhere?

It’s hard to say, since the problem seems to occur after just a few seconds of browsing. In fact, there is no specific action that triggers the problem. I will probably try to delete the deck and manually create it again.

I made it myself.

If you want, I can send you the video, or even the deck in private but I think I’ll just have to recreate the deck manually.

Is it only specific cards that it happens on? How did you get the content into Anki?

Hi,

I’ve been able to test several decks during these days and the crash seems to occur only for 2 cards in the deck (when I click on them). I’ll just delete these 2 cards and recreate them.

I created them from the Anki interface.
