After I uninstalled all instances and installed the latest, the program launches again. But if the id’s are not preserved this will likely happen again in the future.

Yes. I once upon a time was responsible for installshield msi installs, so kind of guessed what the problem was. If they haven’t figured it out, have them research the upgrade id/guid. I would give you more but its been more than 15 years since I was even close to an expert with installs.

Ahhh. I see the thread. Yea. Installshield will track the files between upgrades if the id are correct. It uses the id’s to do a diff during upgrades. Fun stuff

Do you have Anki installed to C:\Program Files\Anki? There’s a known issue here that will be fixed in the next patch release.
