Anki not working for me

Hello,

Since yesterday my anki has not been working every time i press on the app on my laptop it says site cant be reached: the web page at … might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address

and so i cant access my anki cards?

Where in the app do you get that message? Are you sure you use the official Anki (https://apps.ankiweb.net/)?

Sounds weird. The app opening has nothing to do with the site. Do you mean during syncing? What is your operating system and what Anki version do you run ?

Especially this quote

makes me think that OP is using a knockoff (Anki knockoffs - Anki FAQs). They tend to only provide access to their users cards if the user is connected to their servers.

It looks like something on your computer is blocking Anki’s ability to connect to itself. 127.0.0.1 is your own computer, and Anki is essentially a webpage. You should look at your VPN, proxy, antivirus, firewall and see what might be blocking it. [See also: Anki must be able to connect to a local port - Anki FAQs .]

If this wasn’t happening before you upgraded to 25.09, you should consider rolling back to the version you were using before, for now.

ERR_ADDRESS_IN_USE seems to imply that Anki is trying to bind to a port that is already being used. Try to kill every instance of Anki in task manager (or restart your computer) to ensure that no Anki is running, then try again.
