Anki keeps freezing when I answer a card

Hi,
I’m having an issue where Anki keeps freezing when I answer a card, and I’m not sure how to fix it. I never had this problem before throughout med school and I updated my anki like 6 months ago and it has never been the same since. Happens with almost every single card I try to answer.

My setup:

  • Anki version: (e.g., 25.07.5)

  • Operating system: macOS Monterey Version 12.2.1

  • Add-ons installed: Customize Keyboard Shortcuts Image, Occlusion Enhanced, Review Heatmap

  • When the issue started: after an update

What I’ve tried so far:

  • Restarting computer, reinstalling Anki, reverting to old version

Is there anything else I should try, or can you help me figure out what might be causing this?
