Anki Due Date Order

Hello, I’m relatively new to Anki and am having some problems.

I imported bunch of decks, which were organised in a numbered fashion in terms of when they were due. So the first deck started from #1 and then the next deck continued on from where the first deck ended and so on. Now that i have imported everything, I want the new notes that i add to continue from the last note on the last deck, which is 5882. However, when I add new cards it starts from #1 again. I want it to start counting from where I finished without having to manually change it every time.

Are the numbers needed? You can let Anki sort new cards by date created from the deck options.

You can run Tools > Check Database to reset the end of your New-queue to be correct.

If you want to be sure this is the issue, before you fix it, open Cards > Reposition – check the “Queue bottom” – then click Cancel (because you don’t actually need to reposition anything yet).

Then run Check Database and check that again to make sure it moved.

Make sure your New card insertion order is set to “Sequential” – Deck Options - Anki Manual .

When you’re done, if you have notes/cards that you’ve already created and are in the wrong place, you can use Reposition to put those at the end of the queue where you want, and the “Queue bottom” should update accordingly.
