Anki crashes when clicking Import (file explorer opens, then Anki crashes)

’m having an issue where Anki crashes when I try to import a file.

What happens

  • I click File → Import (or the “Import” button).

  • The Windows file explorer / file picker opens.

  • While the file picker is loading (before I can even select a file), Anki suddenly crashes.

So the crash happens during the file picker opening/loading, not during the actual import process.
