Anki 24.04.01 Card Optimization Question

Does anyone know if you can ignore suspended cards or specify a certain deck’s cards to have the evaluation performed? @L.M.Sherlock

For instance, I have a specific deck for which I want to optimize FSRS, and I understand that you can create different presets for different decks. However, when you optimize within a specific preset, I’m confused on whether or not you can specify parameters for within a deck. I know that below where the numbers for FSRS appears, there’s another text box that has an option to name a deck even though the settings are for within a preset.

Some questions:

  1. Can I ignore suspended cards within a preset?
  2. If so, how do I do that? What is the correct text to type in?

Thank you!

Searching

  • You can prepend a minus sign to a term to find notes that don’t match.

is:suspended
cards that have been manually suspended

If you look at it, the default preset will be like this: preset:“name” -is:suspended

Minor correction: no space after preset: otherwise it throws an error. Beware of your autocorrect which can put a space there.

I use the AnKing deck, and to confirm it would look like this then?

preset:“AnKing” -is:suspended

Does that look right?

Good to know, thank you!

With the last message, I wanted to show that suspended cards are not taken into account by default during optimization.

You don’t need to search for that. That search is used by default as Keks said.
