Anki 2.1.55 Beta 1-2

Yeah, I noticed. Well in that case it’s understandable. Thanks for clarifying

I also have to say that I absolutely love how it looks now. And the animations are super nice as well. Very clean and snappy. :two_hearts:

@kleinerpirat since we resize to fit, would it be easy to have the splitter snap open/closed (eg behave like double-clicking) instead of resizing arbitrarily?

Strange, this works for me. What happens when you click once on the image, then click the second button from the right?

I think that the previous progress bar in dark theme was better. What do you think ?

Thanks for the report! That’s unintentional - it should still be blue.

Thanks for the new beta. Performance when running Wayland on Gnome is really nice, especially when compared to XWayland with fractional scaling! The whole client-side decorations topic continues being a mess, but I guess that’s not really Ankis fault at all.

Some things that I also noticed:

Every time I open the Browse window it does not remember my previous actions to be maximized (vs the Add window that is maximized always)

In the Add-ons the selection appears deep dark

Tab borders in dark mode are still nearly invisible in b2, it’s not easy to know which tab you’re on:

Would you prefer a really dark tone (darker than beta 1) or should I brighten the beta 2 border?

Example for darker

Example for brighter

  • brighter border
  • darker border

Tbh I find both versions ugly, so here’s a different proposal:

I’ve voted for brighter, but I also think this second version is better and more intuitive, specially for people used to 2.1.54

I think the new proposal looks best.

RTL problem in the menu at the top of this window

Thanks, that was just a hack to quickly get those tabs to the other side

Anki 2.1.55 qt6 beta2 Windows 10, no add-ons active.

  • In the reviewer, sometimes the screen scrolls in a weird way. This seems to happen the first time I try to interact with some of the card’s components (e.g. HTML buttons), while the bottom/top part of the card is cut e.g. because of zoom.
[ zooming in until the scrollbar appears seems to not be enough to reproduce this; part of the card’s displayed content needs to be “cut” ]
E.g. if I zoom in, the first time I click on a Hint button, the button does nothing, instead the screen scrolls to the bottom of the card. The 2nd to nth time I click on the button (or any other button/element of the card) everything works as it should.

  • When hovering links, deck names (main screen), Decks/Add/Browse/Stats/Sync buttons etc., whether the cursor is displayed as an arrow or a pointer seems a bit buggy.

Environment

Anki 2.1.55 (e14f87ba) Python 3.9.7 Qt 6.4.0 PyQt 6.4.0
Platform: macOS-12.3.1-arm64-arm-64bit
Flags: frz=True ao=False sv=3

M1 Macbook Air 2020
Shift-Click startup

Problem

I couldn’t find this issue mentioned in this thread or on Github Issues (though I only did a quick cmd-f search), but the field name/title is overlapping the content when scrolling down in the Add screen and the Browser Screen
