All of my front/definition cards disappeared

Hey there,
for the past few days I had to realize, that all my newly edited flashcards set in Basic (and reversed card) mode were only showing the text from the Backside of the card, either only on the Back, or the same text on both Back and Front side…

Unfortunately that issue has now spread to all of my self made decks with several thousand cards on the desktop version, AnkiWeb version and Ankidroid version of my account. In the editing mode the field for the definitions in most cases also disappeared or in the case of the exact same text on the front and back of the card, if I’m trying to edit one of the texts into the definition, the other text seems to be linked to it and changes as well.
Does anyone know, if there is a way to get the front definitions of all these cards back without having to write every card anew? And what might have caused the issue?

You likely edited the card template, removing the reference for what should be on the front of the card. You can either fix this by editing the card template or restoring a backup from a time before the card template was altered.

If you need help with repairing the card template, please post screenshots what your note and card templates look like.

Restoring a backup brought all the cards back :slight_smile:
