I used a tag called “todo” before. Yesterday I type a tag called to do. When i deleted it. It always failed.
Tag names can’t have spaces, so a search for tag:to do is searching for a tag called to on notes that have a field containing the text do.
Since tags names can’t have spaces, I suspect that what looks like a space is actually some other character. Have you tried –
- Right-click the tag name in the sidebar >
Delete? - Right-click the tag name in the sidebar >
Renameto remove the “space” first, thenDelete? Notes > Clear Unused Tags?Tools > Check Database?
it shows Cannot rename tags with no notes.
Did you try the other things I suggested?
Did you try adding it to a note, fixing the name, and then deleting it?
yes, I tried. It still failed. You can try it too.
You’re going to need to be more specific about what you’ve tried and what exactly happened as a result of each thing you tried. So far I’ve suggested 5 things, and you’ve only given specifics about the result for 1 of them.
If the tag can’t be renamed because it’s not used on any notes – then it’s an “unused” tag, and you can get rid of it that way.
What about these suggestions?
Notes > Clear Unused Tags can fix this issue. Thanks for your patience.
