Wrong Spanish string

Hello

The string “Label Missing” is incorrectly translated as “Falta etiqueta”, but it should be “Etiquetar faltantes” (translators read “Label” as a noun instead of a verb, changing the meaning)

If you’re interested, you can contribute fixes from the translation website: https://translating.ankiweb.net/

What is the user interface context of “Label Missing”?

This string is Tag Missing – in the Check Media results screen.

OP is right that this should be interpreted as “add tag to the notes that are missing media.” I don’t speak Spanish, but if anyone can verify that would be the correct translation, I can update the string.

“Falta la etiqueta”, “Falta etiqueta” and “Etiquetar faltantes” are all grammatically correct and can be perfectly understood by any native speaker. However, in my opinion, the first option (that is, the current one) is the most natural.
I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

I sent a message with this information through the form linked in that site, as I just wanted to fix this one issue. But I can register and contribute directly if needed.

While they’re all grammatically correct, the meaning is quite different. I speak as a native Castilian Spanish (I doubt it’s correct in Latin American variants either)

“Falta la etiqueta” and “Falta etiqueta” means “The label is missing”. This is not an action to perform, and doesn’t even reflect the problem. What is missing is media for some cards/notes.

“Etiquetar faltantes” means “Add a label on cards/notes with missing (media)”, which is an action to perform on cards/notes that reference a media file that is missing. (Edit: this is what Danika_Dakika correctly interpreted)

Edit: “Falta etiqueta” is missing an article, so while not 100% grammatically correct, it would be understandable.

Sorry, yes you’re right. After thinking twice and seeing the context where that string appears, you’re definitely right (Castillian Spanish native too)

Ok, you can leave updating the string to @Danika_Dakika

@temporalin Thank you for clarifying!
@cqg Thank you for confirming!

I’ve updated the string to Etiquetar Faltantes – which will be included in the next release.

Great, thank you all at the team for your work!
