What does “Daily load” actually mean?

Looking into the documentation and this forum discussion I still have doubts.

It is a sort of forecast, isn’t it? The diagram shows the due cards currently scheduled for each visible day in the graph. For example, I might have around 200 cards scheduled for tomorrow and only 150 for a day one week later. However, as each day passes and reviews are completed, new cards are scheduled for future days, meaning the numbers shown for a week later will likely increase.

(By the way, the manual states about the graph: “This graph shows an estimated number of reviews that will be due on a given day in the future if you learn no new cards and fail no cards.” This seems to be incorrect.)

Therefore, the diagram shows a decreasing number of due cards, although the actual number of due cards will likely be higher once that day arrives.

So, “Daily load” could be considered a better forecast for the workload?

I think so, but then it gets fairly skewed at times when you have crammed a lot of new cards suddenly.

Yes, it is a kind of forecast.

Expertium where did you get this from? Would be interessting to read more about it.

I mean, technically expertium didn’t get this from the manual because he himself wrote that part.

I was mostly wondering about the source because I didn’t remember seeing math formula in the docs. I didn’t read the entire thing though, which probably explains why I didn’t recognize it.

I’m proposing a comment for translators:
