I am using Anki for language learning on an iPad. Very often, when I start a session of learning, I have no problem creating the first card, but when I try to create second new card, “save” does not appear as an option. I have to close and reopen Anki, and I often end up retyping the card, which is frustrating. Thank you.

That sounds odd. The button shouldn’t be able to disappear (though I never used Anki on an iPad before). Can you show us a screenshot of that?

You seem to be missing the entire screen-header-bar (I have no idea what it’s actually called) –
Is that bar there when you open the Add screen – and then it disappears at some point before you are ready to Save? Or is it not there from the start and you just don’t notice right away?
Is this happening when you add multiple notes in a row, without leaving the screen? Or is it when you add a note, leave the screen, and then enter the screen again to add a note?

It happens when I add a note, leave Anki to do my language exercises in Safari, and return to add another note. The top bar is no longer there but typically I do not notice until I have already typed the new note.
When the bug occurs, could you please try disabling Screen Lock and then tilting your iPad 90 degrees to see if changing the screen orientation might cause the top bar to re-appear? If it does, it could be a workaround so you don’t lose your progress.
For tracking purposes, could you please provide information about the configuration that you are using, with which you are seeing the bug?
- iPadOS version?
- iPad model?
- AnkiMobile version? (I assume it is the current version 25.09.)

If you are using a keyboard, you can do COMMAND+S to save your card regardless of the top bar. Be cautious as it does NOT work in the image occlusion editor
