"Tab" and "Shift-Tab" inputs are now different

I just downloaded the new version and I’m not sure if this is a bug or not. I like to use my keyboard when going through Anki and I hit “enter” to show my answer. Then (in previous versions) I could hit enter if I like my choice, I could hit tab to go out to two days, or I could hit shift-tab to see the card sooner. These seemed intuitive yet it doesn’t behave this way anymore. Please revert it or it’d be nice to know why it was changed. Thanks!

Which Anki version are you talking about? You can get the information via Anki > About Anki.

The newest I believe. 2.1.49

Weird. This still works for me. Could you provide a list of add-ons you use. You can get the Debug information in “Anki > About Anki” and then at the bottom left, there’s a button “Copy debug info”

It still "works" it's just that using the tab key doesn't scroll between my options the same way it did in my previous version. I had muscle memory built up :)

Same thing has happened to me.

When I press tab, it stays on the same button for about 3 times, then it goes to the “Miss” button, “Hard”, “Good” and “Easy”.

When I press Shift + Tab, it stays on the same button for about 3 times, then it goes to “Easy”, “Good”, “Hard” and “Miss”.

It gets stuck at the “Good” button.

Reading your thread again, @tombreaz, I might have noticed the issue.

You used Tab to switch between the answer: this used to work in previous versions. However it was changes some time ago, read here for more details.

My recommendation would be to use the number keys (1-4) instead

I’ll try that next time I’m studying.

I got it back to normal :slightly_smiling_face:

First, I uninstalled it using anki’s uninstall.exe on Programs File, deleted Anki2 folder on Roaming Folder, then I installed 2.1.26 version.
