Symbols as you type add-on does nothing

The add-on “Symbols as you type” does nothing on my Windows 11 laptop. It has no reviews.
Has anyone ever gotten it to work?

The original Symbols has not been updated because the developer has not been active recently, instead this fixed version might work.

Also sometimes other add-ons can interfere, so please try disabling all add-ons except this one and check if the same problem occurs.

Thanks, that didn’t work.
Latest versions of Anki (Win 11) have been extremely slow to load and constantly giving me problems. In time, I may go back to an earlier version.
