Maybe I’m wrong, but I get a cognitive dissonance, because based on the card’s lifecycle, buried should always be placed above suspended. The reason is that buried only postpones the card until tomorrow, whereas suspended completely excludes it. In other words, its effect is “stronger.”
Therefore, in my opinion, in the statistics list Card Counts and in the browser’s Card State, the order should be as follows:
New
Learning
Relearning
Young
Mature
Buried
Suspended
That way, all card states go consistently from “new” to “permanently excluded.”
Moreover, the color labels also seem to be swapped.
By the same logic, Suspended should be gray (#808080),
while Buried should be yellow (#FFDC41).
I also suggest introducing standardization, so that these colors remain the same across all interfaces: stats, browser. — to reduce confusion for visual users.
Yes, it may be necessary to experiment a bit with the color of Suspended, so that such cards remain easy to read in the browser. Because if we keep the current background color #FFCE7C, the confusion will come back again, and if we change it to #808080, it might be perceived simply as the color of alternating rows.
But overall, gray as the established color for an inactive element fits the meaning of suspended very well.
