I have noticed this behavior both with 2.1.46 and 2.1.47. While reviewing, sometimes a note appears (default basic type with front/back card) that I need to suspend, which I do with the default shortcut (!). Then, the review count in green drops drastically. I have noticed drops of 20 to - just today - 100 cards. I understand that a massively clozed note has a lot of siblings that should get suspended too but, again, this happens when I suspend default basic type notes with just front/back cards.
I wonder if anybody else has noticed this or I’m missing something, any ideas appreciated.
This is caused by buried siblings, and is resolved in the v3 scheduler.
