I suggest an additional option be added to anki allowing users to answer multiple choice questions (usually which is best out of five possible answer choices) using 1-5 keys (+/-). Either finishing with the spacebar command or giving another opportunity to hit 1-4 for easy hard good etc.
Sounds really inflexible. What if you have more than or less than 5 choices? Why can’t this be solved by the “Type in the answer” feature?
Also, I’d recommend not making multiple choice cards. They’re not a great way of actively recalling information. It’s really easy to just remember the answer’s position (a, b, c, d, e) and not really think about the question/answer. Have you read Effective learning: Twenty rules of formulating knowledge?
