Spanish anki deck - "No players found for TTStag"

Hello.

I am on mac. Have tried switching the voice of my mac to Spanish but still no dice. Can’t find any old threads pertaining to this. The deck I am using is Spanish, not sure how to get the TTS working

Could you please copy/paste the the TTS-related lines in your card templates, so we can see what tags you are trying to use?

(And in general, please see Field Replacements - Anki Manual for information about how to use TTS.)

The problem is that “es_US” is not a valid language-region. Instead:

  • use “en_US” to get an English-United States voice.
  • use “es_ES” to get a Spanish-Spain voice.
  • use “es_MX” to get a Spanish-Mexico voice.

Please read the Anki documentation I linked to see how to use {{tts-voices:}} to find a list of all available voices on your computer. Look for what voices are available for “es_ES” and “es_MX”.

Edit: Added: On my macOS 26 Tahoe system, I believe that the default es_ES voice is “Apple_Mónica”, and the default es_MX voice is “Apple_Paulina”. But, other es_ES and es_MX voices are also available.
