Sort by 'Answer' in Browse

I am building upon an existing deck of vocabulary notes, adding audio clips to them, which I extracted with “answer-question” as the filename. I would like to easily sort the notes alphabetically by answer, to match the sorting in my file browser, so I can quickly drag-and-drop the audio files into the question/answer fields without having to search for either the note or the file.

However, currently this sorting is not supported:

Wanted solution
Please allow this sorting. Note that it is only for temporary purposes, I have no intention to change the order of the notes/cards. I don’t know whether it is possible to differentiate between these two.

Alternatives so far
So far, the notes/cards were entered alphabetically in blocks, so I don’t have to search all the time, but often I do have to (start) typ(e/ing) the answer in the file browser to get to it quickly.

FYI: I’m dropping the audio files into the text fields. I don’t know if there’s a better way currently. Some answers have multiple audio files, so it might be the best one for that use case anyway.

I think they disabled this because it was causing performance issues and everything was running very slowly.
Try sorting by the correct field using add-ons.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

After installing Advanced Browser I was able to add -Fields-/Basic/Back, which is an equivalent to “Answer” in my case, and use that for sorting.

That’s good. I didn’t finish everything in the modified addon either. I need to change the hotkeys from the standard F5 for recording audio…I don’t know who finds that convenient, and F8 for changing colors. I haven’t decided yet, but I’ve added so many new things. You can try mine later, just disable this.
