Show the number of due cards in the app-icon badge, instead of ‘1’

The notification badge on the AnkiDroid app icon can be put to good use: it can show the number of cards that are due. Currently, the badge only shows ‘1’, representing the one notification that says ‘223 AnkiDroid cards due’.

But if, in addition, the notification badge would say ‘223’ in this case, I can instantly see how many cards are ready, without having to read the notification or use the single-tile widget. This feature would be convenient, and in my opinion quite elegant.

I believe I have seen this exact feature in some AnkiMobile screenshots.

I know, but I prefer using the app icon, because you can press and hold it to instantly access functions like ‘Add a note’. I use this very often.

And yeah, ‘there’s also a widget for adding a note’. But I prefer to keep my home screen tidy. Not a widget for every function, but similar functions grouped together. A single AnkiDroid icon that shows how many cards are due and also allows you to add new notes.
