I’ve seen there are a few older similar threats on the topic, but I couldn’t exactly see what I’m looking for.
I’m used to use “Set Due Date” on a specific deck, where I have cards I want delete or suspend, but also not learn regularly. So I set them to 5 years to see them then again.
Other cards in the deck I learn normally.
Now I changed to FSRS. I don’t matter when such a “Set Due Date” card will get an irrational interval after seeing see for the next time. It is kind of a last test and for me ok.
But I worry about, what happens through FSRS to my “normal” cards, when I use “Set Due Date” as I did before.
Nothing.
Is there an impact that you think it would have that you’re concerned about?
“Nothing” sounds perfect.
I was worrying, that this could also influence (lengthen) the interval, when I introduce a new card into normal learning without “Set Due Date”. As said, I just switched to FSRS and I’m still a bit wary with it.
The scheduling of one card doesn’t impact the scheduling of another card [except for a little bit based on balancing your study load across days].
Your review history on a card that is included when you Optimize does impact all of your cards, but only a tiny bit, because it’s mixed in with all of the rest of your cards and their review history.
Thank you. That’s reassuring for me for now and I’m curious to try it out.
