Self duplicate detection

Hello,

Im a very happy new Anki user and have been using it for a few months. I use it to simplify memorization for my 8-year-old children, and it’s working very well ! Many thanks to the team behind this software.

For a few weeks now, I’ve had an issue when adding a new card.

Reproduction steps:

  1. Create a new deck

  2. Add a first note to it

  3. Click Add

The software detects a duplicate entry. But the entry that is detected as a duplicate is the current entry itself.

I have this issue only with one profile. This profile was working normally a few weeks ago.

I suspect there is a bug in the duplicate check logic in a specific case that I haven’t been able to isolate yet.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue, or does anyone have an idea how to resolve it?

Thanks in advance.

Daywin

My configuration:

  • Anki Desktop: Version 25.09.2 (3890e12c) – French translation

  • Anki Server: Self-hosted Docker image ghcr.io/luckyturtledev/anki:25.09.2

The automatic related topic detection from the forum was far better than my initial search… It was just the ‘pin’ that had to be disabled…

Would be nice if you could mark this post (where you posted the solution regarding pin) as the solution, so that everyone sees that this topic is resolved.
