Review time extended after time away from Anki

Hello, I did not complete my anki flashcards for a few weeks, and got a backlog, about 400 cards. I set my new cards to 5 per day, and started working my way through the backlog at about 50-80 cards per day. I noticed, however, that for this deck, the times when I would see the card again were lengthened dramatically; before, for example, easy was usually 4-19 days depending on the card, but now it always says 3.2 months, as it shows in the screenshot above.

I imagine this has to do with the fact I didn’t keep up with my cards for a few weeks. I would like my cards to appear sooner again than 3 months, even if they are easy, but I am not sure how to change the spacing back to the way it was before. Any advice for how I can fix this, or if I should just reset my deck, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This explains the logic behind it – although FSRS uses different formulas than SM-2.

If you are using FSRS with optimized parameters, and it has been doing a good job scheduling cards for you – there’s no reason to necessarily think it’s not correct in scheduling them for you after your time away. Just continue grading your answers honestly and accurately.
