Retire / suspend option

I don’t want to study all my cards until I die - I’d like to finish them. I’m also a big fan of the “steps” function and the control it gives me over how often I see “new” cards. If I want to be creative I can use really big intervals even although this bypasses the SRS formulas built into Anki I really like it.

I’d like to see an option for a step to suspend a card if you get it right. So for example: 15m 1d 5dS

Where if you get it right after 5 days it will suspend it. This would be really good for cards I want to cram but don’t want to really used spaced repetition for. And I’d like to be a bit creative and make my own formulas I could also do stuff like 15m 1d 5d 90d 180dS

For decks that I’m using the built in SRS formulas an option to have it auto suspend cards at say the 1 year or 2 year mark would also be welcome.

I have an addon that I’ve been developing for my personal use to do various batch processing tasks on notes automatically on reviewing a card, adding cards, editing a note field etc.

Currently it can only edit content in note fields but I have plans to eventually (= in a few months maybe) add other actions too, like tagging, creating notes, setting card due dates. I guess adding suspending cards as an action shouldn’t be too hard once I have an initial card action system set up.

I made an addon that automatically suspends after a certain number of hits in a row on the same card (by default it is set to 20 hits), but you can change this in tools > suspension

The addon is in Portuguese, but if you want you can translate the init.py file that is inside the addon folder into English
It also informs the number of hits and errors on each card during the review, but this can be hidden with the command ctrl+D
